Professional

I am currently a software/firmware engineer in the Minneapolis area. I have various professional interests: the history of computing, computer science theory (the theoretical underpinnings of the field), embedded systems development, networking protocols, compiler development, network/computer security, computer architecture, kernel or device driver development, object-oriented design, and principles of software engineering.

I'm most productive (and happy) developing in C or C++ under UNIX or Linux. My favorite cast of supporting tools (in alphabetical order) are awk, bash, Expect, Perl, Python, Tcl/Tk, and vim.

What's the deal with the penguin???
